SEBASENet is the Spanish Research Network in Search Based Software Engineering (SBSE) bringing together most of the Spanish research groups working on this field.
Search Based Software Engineering emerges from the synergies between Software Engineering and other areas like optimization and search. The main objective is the application of this kind of techniques to the resolution of complex tasks within the Software Engineering field, providing engineers with better solutions to their daily problems while reducing the required costs and efforts.
Current SBSE challenges include the automatic generation of test cases, the automatic design of software, the optimal selection of requirements according to multiple objectives and constraints, software cost estimation, and many others. Focusing on the techniques, there is particular interest in multi-objective optimization, the application of exact algorithms, and the use of interactive algorithms that allow including the human in the loop.
