Biosecurity
Those devices or instruments that eliminate or reduce the risk of suffering a percutaneous and mucocutaneous exposure are known as biosecurity materials or devices. They must be included in the procedures, techniques and safety protocols, in other words, in the processes of professional performance, with the aim of reducing, minimizing or, where appropriate, eliminating the risks of exposure to accidental and contagious , among others, of the use of needles and sharps.
If we classify these devices according to the procedure for which they are available, we can include the devices in:
- Extraction material.
- Material of injection.
- Surgical material.
- Infusion material
