Mi investigación está encuadrada en la denominada Relatividad Matemática, un área dentro de la Geometría Diferencial. Concretamente estoy interesado en el análisis de variedades Semi-Riemannianas, con especial énfasis en variedades lorentzianas y su interpretación en relatividad como modelos de espacio-tiempos.

Mis últimos trabajos se han centrado principalmente en dos temas: Por un lado, el estudio de la estructura causal de dichos espacio-tiempos. Por otro, el análisis de las denominadas subvariedades de curvatura media constante. Ambos temas tienen importantes implicaciones en el análisis de agujeros negros.
