Ana Ballesteros-Gómez

A. Ballesteros-Gómez is an Associate Professor of the SAC team. She obtained her PhD in 2011 (cum laude, extraordinary prize, Analytical Chemistry Department, University of Córdoba). She counts with a broad experience abroad by pre-doctoral (VU University Amsterdam, 3.5 months in 2009) and postdoctoral stays (~ 5 years, 2012-2017, VU University Amsterdam and Antwerp University) being Marie Curie fellow within the project ITN INFLAME. Her main research areas are the analysis of emerging contaminants, the development of green supramolecular solvents and the valorization of agricultural waste by the extraction of bioactive compounds. She is currently co-leading several projects from public national institutions and industry. She has published 70 articles, 1 technical note and 3 book chapters (H index 36). She have received several scientific prizes, e.g. three young scientist awards by Spanish Institutions (IUNAN 2011, GRASEQA 2012, SEQA 2015) and funding grants in competitive calls, e.g. 4-year PhD FPU fellowship and a short stay abroad for obtaining the European Mention (Spanish Ministry), the prestigious VENI grant (2014, NWO, The Netherlands) and the Ramón y Cajal grant (2017, Spanish Ministry) together with the positive evaluation of I3 Program (2020, Spanish Ministry).
