About me
María del Carmen Díaz Liñán was born in Córdoba (Spain) in 1994. She studied Chemistry at University of Córdoba (UCO, Spain) from 2013 to 2017, when she joined the FQM-215 group at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, UCO, where she developed her Bachelor Thesis. From 2017-2019 she has studied a double master “Máster Universitario en Profesorado de Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria, Bachillerato, Formación Profesional y Enseñanza de Idiomas” and “Máster en Química Fina Avanzada” (UCO). The Master Thesis of Chemistry defended on April 2019 was focused on the development of paper-based MIPs coupled to fluorimetric detection. The results from her Master Thesis have been already published “Molecularly imprinted paper-based analytical device obtained by a polymerization-free synthesis”.
Currently, she continues working at FQM-215 research group, where she is starting her studies for the doctoral thesis. Her current research is focused on the development of sensors based on planar substrates such as paper (i.e. paper based analytical devices) combined with the use of nanomaterials, which are coupled to different spectroscopic techniques such as Raman spectroscopy.
Furthermore, she has participated in dissemination activities of the University of Córdoba, such as “Paseo por la Ciencia” and the European Researchers’ Night.
