To date, no registered initiatives exist which aim to simultaneously activate multiple sectors and engage the entire cereal value chain.
The closest anyone has come was Grupo Operativo Innovatrigo (2018-2020 in Spain), with the participation of several members of this consortium. While GO Innovatrigo created a certification scheme in Spain, this project was focused exclusively on soft wheat and the implementation of a series of BAP to enhance production, and did not aim to directly benefit farm management through the development of innovative tools.
Some of the most relevant LIFE projects that can serve as a starting point on a comparative and constructive level for the present proposal are:
LIFE AGROMITIGA
LIFE Agromitiga, led by AEACSV, shares some partners with the current project. Its aim is to design strategies to mitigate climate change through carbon-smart farming, focusing solely on conservation agriculture in Spain and the development of tools to enhance the mitigating properties of soil as a carbon sink. LIFE Innocereal EU, on the other hand, is organized at the European level, and focuses specifically on digital agriculture technology, using innovative methods such as IT and NIR technology.
