Presentation
The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology was created during the 1984-1985 academic year, incorporating the disciplines of Pharmacology and Toxicology and Health Legislation into the corresponding divisions of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. In the 2003-2004 academic year, the department changed its name to the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Legal and Forensic Medicine when the area of Toxicology and Health Legislation was divided into two separate areas: Toxicology and Legal and Forensic Medicine. The department provides academic instruction in the degree programmes in Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Food Science and Technology and Environmental Sciences, offering nine core courses and four optional courses. Two groups at the Department currently conduct research under the Andalusian Research Plan.
