Jara Parrilla has been awarded the Jacobo Cardenas Torres Prize in recognition of her work "Early steps of active DNA demethylation initiated by ROS1 glycosylase require three putative helix-invading residues", published in the prestigious journal Nucleics Acids Research. The prize committee highlighted the uniqueness of its scientific content, the quality of the journal in which has been published and the citations of these results by other authors.
Jara Parrilla has a degree in biology and is performing her PhD thesis in the group of Epigenetics and DNA Repair, Department of Genetics, University of Córdoba.
