The IVPTL-NIRS is an educational project conducted by the International Council of Near Infrared Spectroscopy and the University of Córdoba. Our goal is to create a platform on which researchers, professionals and students from a wide range of fields may find courses to learn about NIR technology and other non-destructive spectral sensors. Indeed, we envisage a continuous transfer of knowledge supported by the NIR community. Join us to progress this exciting challenge!
We are pleased to announce that the sixth edition of the course "Fundamentals and Applications of Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS)" which have been taught consecutively since last November have successfully been completed. This edition has been attended by professionals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities (graduations photographs below).
Graduates are awarded with two types of certificates: a certificate of achievement by the International Council for Near Infrared Spectroscopy (ICNIRS) and, for those passing the assessments, a certificate of course completion issued by the University of Córdoba (UCO) recognising 6 ECTS.
The 9th edition of the course "Fundamentals and Applications of Near Infrared Technology” has its beginning next November 25th, 2024, running through to April 30th, 2025.
The course, coordinated by Professors Ana Garrido Varo and Dolores Pérez Marín, requires a workload of 6 ECTS. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is issued two certificates:
1) Certificate of Achievement by ICNIRS ( http://www.icnirs.org/).
2) Certificate issued by the University of Córdoba with the recognition of the credits (6 ECTS) of the course
The theoretical lectures, practical exercises, interactive self-learning exercises, and tools, virtual visits to laboratories, etc. cover basic NIR concepts, such as applications of NIRS in a variety of situations in private and public companies. By completing the course, the student will achieve the following learning outcomes:
• a basic, theoretical, and practical understanding of NIRS spectroscopy.
• the ability to work independently with various types of NIR data to determine quantitative and qualitative information.
• identify his/her needs regarding further education/training in order to become a qualified NIRS professional.
• identify those NIR applications which are ready to be implemented at the industry/laboratory level and those which are still in need of additional research and development work.
The course is structured in 30 on-demand video lectures of about 1 hour each. Students can attend the lectures via the Internet at any time and from anywhere during the course period according to the timetable. The lectures can be interactive, and the lecturer can respond to the student's questions and discussion on Moodle at any time and from anywhere as well.
Each lecture has a pdf with the class notes. The minimum requirement for participants is to have access to a computer and an Internet connection.
Those participants who are interested in earning a certificate of the 6 ECTS credits, will have to pass an exam consisting of 30 quizzes (one per lecture). Students will have two hours' time to complete each quiz and only one attempt. The issuing cost of the credits recognition certificate will be of 26 Euros.
Registration fees are 600 Euros + bank fees.
A registration period will start on the 29th of October, 2024, and continues through March 27th, 2025.
We are pleased to announce that the sixth edition of the course "Fundamentals and Applications of Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS)" which have been taught consecutively since last December have successfully been completed. We want to thank our sponsors for all the support. What you do for the development of the sector is priceless. Without you this unique platform would not exist, thank you!
We are very proud to announce that we have this year two lecturers of the course "Fundamentals and Applications of Near Infrared Spectroscopy" awarded from chemometrics and NIRS scientific communities!
Prof. Dolores Pérez Marín was distinguished with the Gerald S. Birth Award that recognizes a specific accomplishment in advancing the Art and Science of Near Infrared Spectroscopy by a research scientist.
Prof. Paolo Olivieri is the winner of the tenth edition of the 2020 Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems Award for his contributions to the field of Chemometrics and for his continuing efforts to extend its application to Analytical, Food and Forensic Chemistry.
2020 Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems Award
Congrats to both!
