Profile, admission requirements and educational complements
Admission requirements
The Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program (CAPD) is the body charged with establishing access procedures and admission criteria. In any case, these criteria are aligned with current national legislation and with the regulations governing Doctoral Studies at the Universidad de Córdoba.
Via the following link you can find the modes to access doctoral studies, as well as the admission processes, documentation and deadlines.
The Academic Committee of the Social and Legal Sciences Doctoral Program may proceed with the conditional admission of a candidate, without him/her being able to enroll for the academic tutelage (tutela académica) of their doctoral studies. The reasons that may give rise to conditional admission are:
• The need for the completion of complementary training. When, in consideration of the candidate's aptitudes and qualifications, it is deemed appropriate for him or her to complete, prior to joining the Doctoral Program, the legally stipulated supplementary training.
• The presentation of documentation certifying compliance with administrative requirements. When the applicant meets the admission requirements, but has not yet formalized certain documentation or completed other administrative requirements (the legalization of foreign documents, translations, etc.)
If these requirements are not met before the end of the second doctoral studies academic tutelage enrollment period, the admission will be totally canceled.
There are a series of research-oriented Master's degrees that provide direct access to this Doctoral Program:
• Master's Degree in Archeology and Heritage: Science and the Profession (UHU).
• University Master's in Cinematography (UCO).
• University Master's in Heritage Management by Municipalities (UCO)
Students who have completed research-oriented Master's degrees other than those that provide access to this Doctoral Program will have to present the complete documentation on their training when requesting admission so that the Academic Committee and the CAPD can decide whether or not it will be necessary for the student to complete Complementary Training prior to admission to the doctoral program, or during the first year of it.
Admission profile and complementary training
The recommended profile is that of graduates in Art and the Humanities, Communication and Tourism, without excluding candidates from other related degrees if their specific profiles are approved by the CAPD. For an ideal admission profile, applicants will have completed the research-oriented Master's degrees that make up the training period providing access to the Doctoral Programs at the participating Universities, which are included on the application. These include the Master's in Art and Humanities Research (UEX), the Master's in Historical and Natural Heritage, the Ibero-American Master's in Comparative History (UHU), the Master's in Tourism, Archaeology and Nature, the Master's in Advanced Cultural Heritage Management: History, Art and Territory (UJA), the Master's in Texts, Documents and Cultural Intervention, the Master's in Cinematography, and the Master's in Heritage Management by Municipalities (UCO).
Once the application for admission to the Doctoral Program has been received, and after analysis of the mandatory regulatory requirements, the applicant's prior training, curricular background motivation, and Doctoral Thesis Proposal, the Academic Committee may issue a complementary training proposal based fundamentally on the courses offered in the context of the official Master's programs of the Universidad de Córdoba, for those candidates who need it. This proposal will be attached to the decision regarding admission to the Program that the candidates receive.
This complementary training will be considered, for the purposes of public prices and the granting of scholarships and study funding, Doctorate-level training, and their completion will not count with reference to the time limit on doctoral theses indicated in the current Regulations.
For the establishment of this complementary training, the scales of the participating Universities will be taken into account, initially following the scale approved by the Masters and Doctorates Committee of the University of Cordoba

Monitoring and control
